“Pilate entered the praetorium again and called Jesus, and said to him, ‘Are you the King of the Jews?’ Jesus answered, ‘Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?’ Pilate answered, ‘Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me; what have you done?’ Jesus answered, ‘My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world.’ Pilate said to him, ‘So you are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.’ Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth?'” (John 18: 33-38)

What is truth? That’s a good question. What is truth? One thing for sure, truth is not what this world says is truth. Too many people today live by a creed of “my truth” and “your truth” which ends up being no truth at all. Because when you believe that way, you distort the real truth.

In today’s world there are those who would have us believe that these things would be truth and that we must admit to these “truths”:

• Men can be women and women can be men.
• Babies in the womb can be killed at will.
• White people are inherently evil and people of color are always the victims.
• Marriage is outdated and old fashioned.
• The nuclear family is dead.
• Patriotism is extremism/terrorism while riots, looting, and destruction of property are peaceful protests.
• People who protect themselves, family, or friends are evil.
• Only the government knows what’s good for you and your family.

All of these things many people try to tell us are truths are all falsehoods that come from the depth of the darkness where Satan dwells. Satan delights in deviant behavior and looking around at just the behavior in our own country must have him dancing with utter dark joy! The “great deceiver” must be feeling so proud about what he’s accomplished while it must be bringing utter anguish to Christ as He watches so many of His children choosing the lies of the darkness over the Light of Truth!

The real truth is what those pushing their lies hide from in the shadows as they do everything they can to try and destroy those who go through life with Christ in their hearts without fear. The real Truths are:

• God is the one and only true King and Ruler of not only this world but the entire universe.
• God is true love.
• ALL life is precious to God including life within the womb.
• Marriage is a holy bond between a man and a woman blessed by God and is never seen in His eyes as ever being outdated but instead is a timeless act of love and sacrifice.
• The nuclear family is precious and holy in His eyes and mothers and fathers together play vital roles in ensuring that the children of earth remain true to their Creator.
• God created ALL people equal with His love written on their hearts, and not one of His children are born evil, but instead, because of “free will”, they choose the side of evil and darkness.
• He sent His one and only Son into this world not to condemn us but instead to save us and give us the chance to obtain eternal life with Him in His kingdom.
• No one person, no group, no mob, no church leader, no government can give us what we truly need. ONLY God can do that.
• ONLY God knows what’s best for our lives.
• It is ONLY God who gives us the encouragement, strength and courage to not only protect ourselves against evil, but our family, friends, and even our country.
• Because of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we all can now be called the “Children of God“!

But the greatest truth of all is the fact that no matter what we do, what we say, or what we think, or even how far off the path to Christ we might travel, if we just turn around and head back toward Him, He’ll be there, arms wide open with tears of joy streaming down His face saying to each and every one of us “Welcome home!”

No matter how far we hide in the shadows, He’s still there, He still sees us, but most of all He still loves us and that’s all the Truth we need to know.

It’s time for all of us to tell the rest of the world that we refuse to accept their “truths” because we have all the Truth we need – Jesus Christ.
