Going In The Wrong Direction

“The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, ‘I am the bread which came down from heaven.’ They said, ‘Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, “I have come down from heaven”?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught by God.” Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that any one has seen the Father except him who is from God; he has seen the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.'” (John 6:41-51)

The Jews just didn’t get what Jesus was saying to them, in fact, they thought he was somewhat of a nut, especially they knew him to come from a rather poor and common family. Basically, they took him literally when Jesus told them that He was the true living bread that came down from heaven. Seriously, they thought He meant you would have to eat His actual flesh and didn’t realize He was telling them they needed to soak in, devour His Word and that it was His flesh that He would allow to be sacrificed for them, on the cross. He was just speaking metaphorically not literally.

Sounds pretty ignorant doesn’t it, that they didn’t understand the point He was trying to get them to understand? But how are people any different today? After all these centuries it seems that so many are still lost in their own ignorance and misunderstanding of what Jesus is still trying to tell us. Instead of listening, soaking it in and devouring His Word and truly believing ALL of it, far too many are turning around and running in the absolute wrong direction. And that wrong direction is leading to the death of so many souls in this country and the world.

So much of society today is running headstrong right into the arms of Satan and they don’t even realize that’s where they are headed. They allow the lies from the king of lies to engulf them, giving them temporary relief from the pangs tugging at their souls, when that emptiness could be filled instantly if they would just turn around and head to the arms of Jesus instead. The lies they’ve been told by Satan have clouded their vision and keeps them from realizing that His truth is the only thing that’s going to save them.  Satan doesn’t allow them to realize that turning to Jesus you have NOTHING to lose and EVERYTHING to gain and that’s eternal life.

For the true believers, it’s our job and duty to try and reach out to those who are running away from Him bringing them closer and closer to being eternally separated from God Himself. After all, that’s Satan’s goal and always has been. We need to be willing to be warriors and stand up against the evils of this world that is dragging so many unsuspecting souls to their eternal doom. As true believers we need to be willing to fight the evils that this society/secular world  is pushing so hard on all of us. There are times for tolerance, and basically that’s being patient with a lost soul, but when it comes to evil, there should be ZERO tolerance for. Look where that “Christian tolerance” has gotten us! Men can be women, women can be men, shout your abortion, mutilation of innocent children and the list goes on and on. You think any of this would be happening right now had we not been so tolerant of evil in the past and why? Because we didn’t want to hurt someone’s feelings? Or come off the wrong way? Well, we can all take part in the blame, it’s because of this weak tolerant attitude is why we are where we are right now.

We, as believers have a lot of work to do and a long road to travel if we want to help bring people back to Jesus Christ and if we fail to bring just one back to His arms, we’ve failed Him and that’s unacceptable. We need to make up for our previous weak tolerant state and fight for those who need Him the most.

We must believe and I mean deep in our souls, believe that Jesus no matter what is our only way in which we can save our souls and help others do the same.
